Update for July 1, 2021/BC Restart Step 3
Eye Etiquette will continue with our current COVID-19 rules and procedures (this includes mask-wearing and advanced booking for all services). This is due to us needing approval from both of our Colleges, plus our services require close proximity. Please continue to follow our current guidelines listed below, and remember: Be Kind, Be Calm, and Be Safe.
To protect both clients and employees, we kindly ask that you follow the instructions below for all your appointments until further notice. Please note that masks are required at all times while inside the dispensary, and all services are by appointment to limit the number of patients inside at one time.
Social Distancing
Please be mindful and keep a safe social distance of 2 meters. This includes interacting with our staff and other clients who may be seated during their service appointment. For everyone’s safety, we have removed some seating in the waiting area.
The Dispensary
When entering the dispensary you will be asked to check-in, cleanse your hands, and then have a seat until escorted to your service. Hand sanitizer is positioned conveniently throughout the dispensary. To combat the virus from spreading we ask that you leave all personal items other than a small purse or wallet and required glasses in your vehicle.
Need to Know
All services are by appointment. Please book your appointment in advance by calling our Belmont or Millstream location or book your appointment online.
Masks are required at all times while inside the dispensary. Our staff will be wearing masks during your service just to add a level of safety due to the close proximity needed to perform some duties when adjusting glasses, taking measurements.
As much as we would love to catch up, conversations may be limited due to the fact we are both wearing masks.
We will be booking an extra 15 mins between clients to ensure all cleaning and sanitization protocols are met.
To keep our clients and staff safe, you may be tested by a contactless forehead thermometer prior to your entry into the dispensary
Until further notice will NOT be offering coffee, tea, water, candy, or a magazine.
Any beverage brought into the dispensary must be in a sealed container.
Food or snacks will not be permitted.
The Social Bubble
Unfortunately, only one adult from your family can attend the booked appointment. It is also acceptable for one parent or guardian to escort one child under the age of 12 during their service under these circumstances. This means support or accompaniment by children, family members or friends will not be permitted during your service unless prior arrangement has been made.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
- If you are in self-quarantine or have been outside of Canada or in contact with any family/friends who have traveled outside of Canada in the last 2 weeks, please let us know immediately so we can arrange for alternate timings for your appointments.
- Most importantly, please cancel your appointment if you are sick or not feeling well. Rest assure you will not be charged a cancellation fee for doing so.
Thank you for your understanding and support. To see all our COVID-19 updates click here.
May I ask WHY an appointment?
It would take me 3 min. or less to see if you have something I like.
Why would I make an appointment for that?
Thank you for this question, Nicole. During the pandemic, we have to keep our numbers in the clinic and dispensary to an exact amount to ensure physical distancing. Scheduling appointments allows us to achieve this goal while keeping wait times to a minimum for everyone – even for shorter visits. Thank you for your patience during this unusual time.
do i need an appointment to check your glasses stock. I have an extra large head and I need long side frames to go past my ears. I will need and eye test appointment as well
Hello Gord, Thank you for these questions. Since you need an eye exam as well, we suggest scheduling an eye exam with us either online or call our Belmont Market location at: 778.432.3344 or our Millstream Village location at 250.474.1941. We can help you with glasses when you come in for your appointment too. Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help!
Hello,
It seems like I’m experiencing a blocked tear duct on my right eye. Would you be able to help me?
Thank you
Kind regards,
Vera Rudak
