Eye Etiquette Belmont MarketIt’s finally here! Our new second location in Belmont Market will officially be open on January 6! Eye exams at our Belmont Market location start on January 21. Come on in our two entrances by Origins Bakery; one facing Thrifty Foods and one facing Merchant Way.

We’re excited to introduce you to our new doctor Dr. Vidhi Bhatt. Dr. Bhatt will be taking care of all our Belmont Market patients and will also be available every other Monday at our Millstream location. You can book an appointment with her on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Dr. Vidhi Bhatt completed her Bachelors degree at the University of British Columbia with a major in Microbiology, and later pursued Optometry at the Massachusetts College Of Pharmacy and Health Science where she graduated with honours as part of the Beta Sigma Kappa society.

She has completed her internships at a variety of practices including Veterans Affairs Hospital in Orlando, Florida, a private office in Seattle, and community health centers in Boston. Her volunteer work has also taken her to Nicaragua.

In her spare time, Dr. Bhatt likes to travel to new cities and spend time with family and friends.

Get to know Dr. Bhatt

Q: What was your favourite subject at school?
A: Biology.

Q: What made you want to become an optometrist?
A: I visited the optometrist very frequently due to my high glasses prescription and that left a lasting impression on me and sparked my interest in this profession.

Q: How long have you been an optometrist?
A: 2 years.

Q: What is the most common misconception about eye health in your experience?
A: Eye doctors only provide an eyeglass prescription. Eye exam also includes a full comprehensive assessment of the ocular health.

Q: What is the most exciting new discovery/technology in optometry in your opinion?
A: I like the Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) imaging because it allows us to view a cross-sectional image of the retina which is used in the diagnosis of diseases like Glaucoma, Age-related Macular Degeneration, and Diabetic Retinopathy.

Q: What’s your favourite food?
A: I love a good veggie burger (yes I am vegetarian)! – I can’t make it though!

Q: Where’s your favourite travel destination?
A: Los Angeles, California.
